The Local and National Police arrest seven people for infringing the Immigration Law
Members of the Local Police of Benidorm and the National Police detained seven people of Chinese nationality yesterday for violating the Immigration Law within the framework of a Special Operation to prevent theft and illegal activities on the beaches of the city, mainly massage services or product sales. This operation was developed from noon yesterday on the beaches of Poniente and Levante, and it involved more than 25 agents from different brigades of the National Police and the Local Police.
As a result of the operation, more than 15 people were identified and seven individuals of Chinese nationality, five women and two men between 38 and 56 years of age were arrested, who have been accused of violating the Immigration Law for being residing in the country in an irregular manner.
The seven people arrested were identified when they allegedly offered their services as masseurs to tourists who were on the beach.
The acting councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, said that this operation "is the result of coordinated work between our Local Police and the Police Station of the National Police of Benidorm, and seeks to control and eradicate illegal activities on our beaches, especially those that can damage the health of people such as performing massages by people without accreditation or proper training. "
Sources of the National Police Body have informed that the detainees were transferred to the Police Station of Benidorm, where they have been initiated the corresponding Administrative Sanctioning File. Once the Expulsion File has been notified, they have been released pending the decision of the Sub-delegation of the Government of Alicante to decide the resolution.
