The beneficiaries, over 65 years of age registered in Benidorm, will receive a single payment of at least 50 euros for the energy cost of their homes
Last days to request municipal aid for the elderly to alleviate the costs of the electricity bill
The aid, co-financed by the City Council and the Provincial Council, can be processed face to face or online until this Friday, August 26
The Department of Social Welfare, directed by Ángela Llorca, reminds people over 65 years of age registered in Benidorm that this week is the deadline to apply for the new aid launched by the City Council to alleviate the cost of the electricity bill. An aid that provides for a single payment of at least 50 euros to compensate for the energy cost of the habitual residence can be requested until this Friday, the 26th.
Llorca has indicated that "300,000 euros will be allocated to this call for aid, co-financed by the Provincial Council of Alicante by a subsidy granted to the City Council to mitigate the effects of energy poverty."
The councillor recalled that "if once all the requests have been met, the 300,000 euros budgeted have not been exhausted, the remainder will be distributed among all the beneficiaries." In this way, “the initial aid of 50 euros could be increased to a maximum of 100 euros”.
People over 65 years of age, who have been uninterruptedly registered in Benidorm for at least the last 5 years and who are owners or renters of a home intended for their habitual residence, can apply for this aid. In addition, the rest of the members of the family unit -up to the third degree of consanguinity- who live in the house must also have reached the age of 65 and be registered in the city for the same period of 5 uninterrupted years.
The aid can be requested electronically or in person. For telematic processing, you must access the website of the City Council with a digital certificate -https://sede.benidorm.org/catalogo-de-servicios/BSENER/-. People who use the face-to-face option can go to the General Registry of the City Council, José Llorca Linares, La Torreta, Jelena and Tanit social centres, the municipal branches -asking for an appointment through www.benidorm.org-, and at the offices of the Department of Social Welfare. In addition, it can be submitted by certified mail, providing the required documentation and the application form, available at the website and the social centres.
In addition to the application form, if you are an owner, you must provide the IBI receipt for 2021, the DNI of all the members of the family unit, three electricity receipts for 2022, the direct debit document signed by the entity and a photocopy of the card or equivalent document.
The renters, for their part, must provide the rental contract -which must be for at least one year-, the DNI of all the members of the family unit, three electricity bills paid this year, and the bank direct debit. In case of not being the owner of the electricity received, you must prove that you are in charge of this expense.
As established in the rules, in the case of leases you cannot be related by blood or affinity to any degree with the owner of the home.
