This afternoon the exhibition 'Trobada de la Mare de Deu del Sofratge' organized by the Recreational Cultural Society 'La Barqueta' has been inaugurated, with the support of the department of the Fiestas and in commemoration of the 278th anniversary of the discovery of the Virgin. The event was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; and other companions of the corporation. The senator for Alicante, Agustín Almodóbar was also present; the president of the Comissió de les Festes Majors Patronals 2018, Paco Marín; the president of Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofrage', Dani Luque; and the queens of the Major Patron Festivities, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo.

The artist Miguel Ribes Sogorb, author of a good part of the works exhibited in the premises of 'La Barqueta', made a didactic tour with the attendees, in which he revealed details of the process of elaboration of the works and anecdotes of the ephemeris .
The exhibition will remain open at the headquarters of 'La Barqueta' until March 18, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The association is also finalizing the details of the sixteenth edition of its School Contest of Drawing and Painting that will be able to be seen in Casa del Fester from March 5.
