Juan Fuster Zaragoza Avenue gains 70 parking spaces for residents and 70 for motorcycles

18 July 2019
La avenida Juan Fuster Zaragoza gana 70 plazas de aparcamiento para residentes y 70 para motos

Juan Fuster Zaragoza Avenue counts from today with a single lane of circulation and happens to be of unique direction, with entrance by Ametlla del Mar and exit by Almirante Bernat de Sarrià. As reported by the councilman of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, these changes in the configuration and traffic of the avenue have allowed "create 70 new parking spaces for residents and 70 more for mopeds and motorcycles", by reconversion of the lane of circulation eliminated for parking front and the liberation of the space that until now occupied 36 containers of waste collection of lateral load.

The councillor explained that these 140 new parking spaces "are located in the lower part of Juan Fuster Zaragoza Avenue, the closest to Almirall Bernat de Sarrià"; while the "110 blue zone parking spaces" are maintained, which have been concentrated in the area closest to Ametlla del Mar Avenue and which guarantee the rotation of vehicles "to serve the health center and the shops

With the creation of new exclusive parking for registered residents, the 'Residents' Zone' already exceeds 300 parking spaces in Rincón de Loix, and increases up to 3,300 parking spaces throughout the city.

De Zárate, who also manages the Street Cleaning department, recalled that the changes in Juan Fuster Zaragoza avenue also affect the garbage collection system, which is no longer side-loading and becomes rear-loading. Hence, it has been proceeded to the withdrawal of "36 containers that were fixed on the street", which have been replaced by traditional containers that each community will take to the street at the scheduled time.

The councillor has anticipated that during the next few days "more bins will be installed" and the urban scene of the avenue will be reinforced with "the installation of rubber in the tree's tree pits".
