Domingo Seguí 'Chomi' and the Brotherhood Jesús de Nazareno received the 'Diego Cano Enguera' awards

Benidorm returned this weekend to sports events dedicated to 'running' with the celebration of the second longest test of the Valencian Community, the Cross El Calvari, which this year celebrated its edition number 39, organized jointly by the Department of Sports , the El Calvari Festa and the Athletics Club Benidorm and in which a hundred athletes have participated.
In absolute category the winner was the athlete of C.A. Benidorm Juan Antonio Fernández Cantos reached the finish line with a time of 25:27, followed by Norwegian athlete Sebastian Conrad (25'52 ''), while third place went to Rubén Caballero of CA Benidorm (26'10 '') whose test had a distance of 7,750 meters, and which toured the El Calvari neighborhood and the Paseo de Levante.
In females, the winner was the athlete from Pilar Rodriguez (34'03 ''), followed by the athletes Nancy Van Zullen (36'45 '') and Esther Madruga (36'50).
After the test came the turn of school children, where more than 500 students from schools in Benidorm traveled different distances in cadet category, children, alevín, benjamín, prebenjamín and babies, crowding the streets of downtown Benidorm.
Lastly and on the occasion of the Cross Calvari, the 'Diego Cano Enguera' Awards were presented, which are annually awarded to a festive entity and to an athlete or sports entity. Some prizes that are celebrating their 21st anniversary and which went to the firefighter Domingo Seguí 'Chomi' - gold medal in the World Games and the Fire and Police Olympics - and to the Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
