The City Council has already injected more than 1.1 million euros into the homes most affected by the economic and social crisis
The JGL gives the green light to the 11th remittance to families to deal with the pandemic
The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the 11th remittance of municipal aid to families in 2021, with which the City Council is trying to mitigate the difficult situation that the homes of Benidorm that have been most affected are going through due to the economic and social crisis derived from the pandemic. The mayor, Toni Pérez, reported today that this new remittance amounts to 139,200 euros and reaches 166 beneficiaries.
According to the figures provided by the mayor, “in the eleven already approved remittances of this aid, more than 1.1 euros have been injected into about 1,200 homes in Benidorm that have seen their income reduced since the pandemic broke out or as a result of it.". The beneficiary households receive a quarterly aid that ranges between 600 and 1,350 euros depending on the number of members of the family or coexistence unit.
Toni Pérez has indicated that “the Technical Commission that is in charge of evaluating the applications for these grants continues to work incessantly to be able to solve these benefits as quickly as possible, attending to an average of 200 files every week, as well as claims or rectification of requests of previous remittances ”.
The eleventh remittance of Family Aid for Covid-19 will be published in the coming days on the notice board of the municipal website. A period of 30 days will then be opened for the introduction of appeals, which must be processed through the web: https://sede.benidorm.org.
In the 2021 budget, the City Council has reserved 5.5 million euros for these grants. This amount is added to the resources mobilized to serve the productive fabric of Benidorm, and that only for the two calls for aid approved today - second phase of ‘Parenthesis Aid’ and aid to the accommodation sector - exceed 6 million euros.
