After the storm, the City Council made available to affected localities municipal resources, and citizens participated in the campaign to collect educational material

The government proposes to the plenary an emergency aid of 10,000 euros for the Vega Baja

25 September 2019
El gobierno propone al pleno una ayuda de emergencia de 10.000 euros para la Vega Baja

The local government will raise to the plenary next Monday, September 30, a motion so that Benidorm  City Council enable an emergency financial aid of 10,000 euros for the Vega Baja that contributes to “alleviate the most pressing needs of the affected population "

As stated in the proposal signed by the spokesmen of the government of the Popular Party, Lourdes Caselles and Mónica Gómez, this aid will serve as "reinforcement of the campaign of citizen solidarity undertaken in our municipality." In this regard, remember that the City Council “reacted immediately by channeling the help of the people of Benidorm through the Local Association of APAs of Benidorm, attending the campaign that the Gabriel Miró FAPA has launched, and setting possible citizen contributions in the collection of educational material ”.

To this citizen collaboration is added the one provided by the City Council “in the first attention and emergency work” after the storm; at which time municipal resources and concessionary companies were made available to the affected local entities. These Benidorm resources were managed "through the different coordination centers arranged for this purpose by both the provincial and regional administration."

According to the proposal, aside from these actions “the reality and the consequences that this catastrophe” has left in the affected municipalities “requires that this City Council maintain its spirit of collaboration” and contribute “also direct economic resources” to serve the population of the Vega Baja.
