Benidorm Film Office, present at San Sebastian International Film Festival
Benidorm Film Office is present these days in the 67th edition of San Sebastian International Film Festival, where ‘The Valencian Community has participated as a shooting set’ held in the Keler space of the city of San Sebastian. An act attended yesterday by several producers and representatives of the national audiovisual sector, and which has consisted of the presentation of a new website where the attractions and advantages of the Community are reported as a scenario of audiovisual productions
In the presentation, in addition to Luis Tormo of the Valencian Tourism Agency and Giovanna Ribes –president of Valencian Audiovisual Producer-, Rosa Llorca and Pepa Jordá, representing the Film Office of Benidorm and Valencia, two of the filming offices more active in the Community. In fact, Benidorm plans to close the year with several productions that will make 2019 one of the best years since the launch of the Film Office.
During the presentation, Llorca claimed the role of this free municipal service to audiovisual producers through the Film Office, as well as the importance of supporting this activity by the institutions.
Since 2013 the service of film, television and advertising productions of the City Council, which has the support of Visit Benidorm, has increased year by year the number of projects that have the city as a set of filming.
The reactivation of the Valencian Community Film Commission - now Valencia Region Film - is a first step in the commitment to film tourism and the tourism promotion obtained by destinations that host filming, and which adds to the spectacular economic impacts generated by the same.
