The Department of Sports, directed by Arturo Cabrillo, has prepared for this weekend several sports activities aimed at bicycle users, within the European Mobility Week whose purpose is "to involve the smallest in the use of the means of alternative transport, especially, the bicycle ".
On Saturday September 22 Foietes Park will host the second edition of the Children's Duathlon, an activity aimed at children who can enjoy a mixed sport that combines running on foot and by bicycle for a short distance around the park. The activity will start at 5.30 pm ending around 20.30 with different sports dances by the Costa Blanca Balla Dance Club.
On Sunday, September 23, different routes with electric bicycles have been programmed, with the collaboration of TAO Bikes, which will make several dozens of e-bikes available to users, starting at 10.30 am.
David Arroyo, coordinator of the Elite Bikes Club, explained that during the day there will be an exhibition of how the transitions are in the triathlon and duathlon tests.
Eduardo Martinez, vice president of Benidorm Cycling Club, thanked the City of Benidorm for the organization of this type of activities, especially aimed at the little ones since "we must inculcate them from very young the use of the bicycle and this type of activities in addition they like to participate with their families ".
