A 'Flashmob' in front of Benidorm City Council commemorates the International Dance Day
On Monday afternoon, dance schools and academies in Benidorm commemorated the International Dance Day that because of the weather, had to be suspended last Monday, April 29.
Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España has hosted a 'Flashmob' translated directly from English. That is an organized action in which a group of people meet in a public space to perform, demonstrate skills, or make a certain claim.
On this occasion, the rain also made an appearance minutes before, but at 6:00 p.m., the scheduled time for the show, the sun reigned again in Benidorm.
The event, which has had the collaboration of the Department of Culture, has been coordinated by the Association of Dance Professionals of the Valencian Community in Benidorm and other towns in the territory. It has brought together dancers from the Paqui Mora Dance School, the Pilar Segura Dance Academy, the María José Moya Dance Studio and the Lope de Vega Dance School, with its manager Daniela Arnoldo at the helm, authentic protagonists of the 'flashmob' which they have attended, mixed among the large audience, the mayor, Toni Pérez, the councillor of the department, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and other members of the corporation.
The show lasted just 15 minutes and was preceded by two manifestos, one regional and the other national, which called for International Dance Day and encouraged public administrations and society to support the third art as a form of expression and an essential part of our culture.
