The OFEB pursues the creation of a common space for socialization between followers of both contests
The first association of fans of Benidorm Fest and Eurovision is born in Benidorm
Plaza del Castell in Benidorm has hosted this noon the official birth of the Fan Organization of the Eurovision Song Contest and Benidorm Fest (OFEB), whose founding act has been signed by 17 'eurofans' of the more than 70 with which the organization counts. The Councilor for Events, Jesús Carrobles, and the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, attended the presentation of the association this morning.
Its president, Rubén Frías, has indicated that the constitution of OFEB "is the de facto formalization of a family that has been growing meeting after meeting from many parts of Spain." Frías explained that this time "we have been finding people who live Eurovision with a special enthusiasm and Benidorm and the Benidorm Fest have united us".
A group of people who, until very recently, hardly knew each other beyond social networks and who gradually joined “that weekend of 2022 in this broom car”.
The OFEB statutes define as the main purpose of the entity the creation of a common space organized for socialization between fans of Benidorm Fest and Eurovision Song Contest, but also the enhancement of the music and culture of the that both festivals are an important exponent.
OFEB is the first entity in the country to recognize itself as a follower of the Spanish pre-selection which, with only two editions, "has been consolidated both for the public corporation and for specialized circles in the international arena" underlined Frías, who added that "we are the first organized benieurofans”.
Tonight they will meet again in Benidorm to follow the final of Eurovision 2023 and show support for the candidacy of Blanca Paloma and her song 'Eaea'.
