Coca-Cola joins this ecological and sustainable initiative, and will install a stand in the fireworks
Fiestas and the Environment will distribute 10,000 reusable glasses among members of the Clubs
The Councilors of Fiestas and Environment, Jesús Carrobles and Mónica Gómez, have presented today to the media the new ecological, reusable and recyclable cups on the occasion of 2019 Majors Patron Festivities. They will be 10,000 units that will be distributed free of charge among all the clubs registered or not in the Association of Clubs 'Verge del Sofratge' and among their member; as it was done last year with the 10,000 reusable glasses that the Department of Festivities suffered in full also on the occasion of Festes Majors Patronals.
The councillors have been accompanied by the head of communication of Coca-Cola European Partners Iberia in the Valencian Community, Fernando Álvarez. With this collaboration, the company gives continuity to the actions in favor of the environment in the city that began last summer with the campaign 'Mares Circulares' of cleaning of waste in coasts and oceans, and that was developed in Paseo de Levante in Benidorm.
The glasses, 100% recyclable, have been tampographed with ecological ink. They show the hallmarks of the soda brand and the Department of Fiestas. This is the first time that Coca-Cola is directly involved with the organization of the Mayor Patron Festivities of Benidorm, where, since this summer, it has one of its commercial delegations.
A cooperation that is "a great joy" -said Jesús Carrobles- because it shows "that the most important brand of soft drinks turns to our city". The Councilor for Fiestas has also announced the installation of a Coca-Cola promotional stand “during the four days of the fireworks’ ”.
For her part, Mónica Gómez thanked Coca-Cola's support “for sustainability and recycling” with the campaign that will also allow Benidorm to enjoy “cleaner streets during events as important as our Local Festivities. "
Finally, the representative of Coca-Cola has referred to the sustainability strategy of the brand "which goes through very demanding commitments in terms of reducing plastics." Fernando Álvarez recalled that “practically 100%” of the brand's “are recycled” containers and that the company intends that in 2020 “50% of its plastic comes from recycled PET [ethylene polyterephthalate]”.
