Benidorm announces grants for support and promotion of women's sport with an amount of 90,000 euros
Benidorm City Council will convene a line of municipal grants for the support and promotion of women's sport with 90,000 euros. As the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, has advanced, "next Monday the Local Government Board will approve the bases of these grants to sports entities or clubs that have teams and / or female athletes."
Cebreros stressed that "it is the first time that Benidorm City Council has called for grants aimed at women's sports, up to now, different grants have been granted to specific clubs or teams." “With this formula we open grants to all clubs of Benidorm and we do it, in addition, guaranteeing total equality and maximum transparency, since the economic aid to each entity will be set based on criteria previously assessed and collected in the bases ", has added.
As noted by the councillor, "these same bases establish a maximum eligible amount of 15,000 euros per club or entity"; an amount that may go to cover "activities, projects and programs" whose purpose "is the promotion and promotion of women's sports."
Cebreros advanced that when determining the amount of each aid will be taken into account, for example, how long the entity has been participating with women's teams in federated events; the number of registered members in Benidorm; federative expenses related to women's teams or athletes; the organization of activities aimed at promoting women's sports; or his collaboration with the Department in sporting events.
As with the lines of aid to social or festive entities, it will be a Technical Commission that is responsible for checking, evaluating and assessing all requests, and then submit a resolution proposal, which must be approved by the Governing Board Local.
Cebreros said that "from the government team we have been working on these grants for several months, with which we want to contribute to promoting women's sports, especially the base."
