The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councillor of Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer; Pedro Zaragoza's relatives, as well as several councillors of the municipal corporation, has visited today the exhibition of posters of the Benidorm Festival, curated by Juan Díaz and which includes part of the most prominent posters of the contest over several decades, since It started in 1959.
In 2019 it is celebrated 60 years of that first festival and from the department of Heritage are organizing different activities "to remember the success that Pedro Zaragoza had with the celebration of the Spanish song festival, which would become a unique promotional tool at the level national and international ", as highlighted today by Ana Pellicer.
Toni Pérez has valued "the success of this initiative", which also has its first appointment in Los Carrascos "where the family of Pedro Zaragoza lived for so many years". The mayor underlined "the artistic and historical value of these creations for Benidorm", as well as "the possibility of exposing them to the public as a milestone in the history of music, because from here came great composers and performers of the Spanish song" .
For his part, Juan Díaz has emphasized that "very soon we will present the poster of the first Benidorm Festival", of which there was no copy in the Town Hall and that "we have achieved thanks to a search work with the sons of the author's poster, and that very soon they will deliver it to us ".
Both Ana Pellicer and Juan Díaz have announced an upcoming exhibition of Benidorm Festival for the summer at Boca del Calvari Museum, for which it is counting on the collaboration of many people and collectors who are donating all kinds of elements related to Benidorm Festival.
