The Espai d'Art of the City Council hosts a collective exhibition by Maduixa Art and Asmibe
The Espai d'Art of Benidorm City Council is hosting a collective exhibition from today by the artists of Maduixa Art and Asmibe. An exhibition called 'Art and Light' is made up of more than 80 works of different techniques and themes.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until June 27 and was inaugurated this morning by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who was accompanied by its curator and Maduixa Art professor, Laia Gimard. The works have been made by artists whose ages range from five years old to 70 and in these works "we can find a wide variety of visions of how to experiment with art and pictorial materials," said the mayor.
Jaime Jesús Pérez has specified that in the exhibition "we find landscapes of the land, of Benidorm, picturesque portraits, animals, still lifes, animated characters and even interpretations of masterpieces." Each author has presented one of the works he has been working on in the last year.
Laia Ginard, a graduate in Fine Arts and fashion design, is the director and teacher of Maduixa Art, a creative space that opened its doors in 2015, and also the curator of the exhibition. “There is a wide variety of techniques such as watercolour, oil, acrylic, coloured pencils, markers, crayons, etc. All of them help them develop and have fun imagining new worlds, interpreting visions of reality and their favourite characters,” she stated.
María Fernández, president of Asmibe, thanked the professor for “the work she is doing” and expressed her desire that “you like the exhibition because she has paintings that are beautiful.”
Finally, the exhibition has also a special mention of a Maduixa Art student, Josefa Vicente, “who left us last year, but we have a work of hers on display here,” Ginard added.
