In 2017 a total of 68 grants were given for an amount of 30,000 euros

Employment increases grants for the creation of new companies by 20%

24 January 2018
Empleo incrementa un 20% las ayudas para la creación de nuevas empresas

The department of Employment and Local Development, directed by the mayor Mª Jesús Pinto, has increased by 20% the aid for the creation of new companies that the City Council grants annually and of which last year a total of 68 self-employed people benefited, overall amount of 30,000 euros.

Pinto indicated that "for the year 2018 we have reserved 36,000 euros to support self-employed workers who start or have started their activity this year in our city." This amount, she pointed out, "implies an increase of 6,000 euros for this direct grant, which in recent years has been very well received and has provided support for people who have opted for self-employment."

In addition to increasing the overall amount of subsidies, "we have also increased the amount of the two types of aid that are granted: those aimed at entrepreneurs who process the opening license at City Hall, and those reserved for self-employed workers who do not need a establishment to exercise their activity ". Thus, the former have gone from 500 to 600 euros, while the latter have increased from 350 to 375 euros.

Among the conditions and requirements to qualify for this line of aid are having started the activity as of January 1 and have not figured as self-employed for the last six months. However, all documentation and information is available in the offices of the Agency for Employment and Local Development (AEDL), located on the ground floor of City Hall.
