Employment grants 9,250 euros to implement 20 new business projects
The Department of Employment, through the Local Agency for Employment and Promotion (AEDL), has approved the grant of 9,250 euros for the implementation of 20 new business projects in the city. The Technical Commission created for the monitoring and evaluation of these grants has analyzed the applications submitted, which correspond to companies started up throughout the year. This technical Commission, constituted last August, is made up of the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, representatives of the three municipal groups of the corporation, the director of the Agency for Employment and a technician.
On this occasion, the approved grants refers to business projects promoted by 13 women and 7 men. These activities are, in particular, an English training center, hospitality and pastry shops, an online clothing store, a greengrocer, a center to teach courses for a ship's license card, and an architecture studio.
The councilor recalled that "the objective of these grants is to facilitate entrepreneurs in Benidorm to start their business, with a direct contribution", and has encouraged "all those who want to implement a new company in Benidorm to consult the bases of this call that is open throughout the year ”. These grants translate into a single payment of 600 euros for entrepreneurs who process the opening license at the City Hall, and 400 euros for those self-employed workers who do not need a place to carry out their activity.
Last August, the Commission already granted an amount of 6,200 euros for the implementation of another 12 projects; that add up to the 10,600 euros granted in the previous quarters until reaching more than 50 projects. The councillor of Employment recalled that for this exercise 40,000 euros had been reserved for these grants, gradually increasing the amount of previous years by 10,000 euros. The Commission will meet again next December.
Among the conditions and requirements to qualify for this line of grants are having started the activity from January 1 and not having appeared as a self-employed worker during the previous six months. However, all documentation and information is available in the offices of the Agency for Employment and Local Promotion (AEDL), located on the ground floor of the City Hall, as well as at www.benidorm.org.
