The City Council annually reserves 40,000 euros for this line of support grants to entrepreneurs
Employment grants 8,750 euros to support the implementation of 19 new business projects
The Department of Employment, through the Local Agency for Employment and Promotion (AEDL), today has resolved the award of 8,750 euros to contribute to the implementation of 19 new business projects in Benidorm. The Technical Commission created for the monitoring and evaluation of these grants has analyzed the applications submitted, which correspond to companies started up in recent months. This Technical Commission, constituted last year, is made up of the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, representatives of the three municipal groups of the corporation, the director of the Agency for Employment and Local Promotion and a technician.
On this occasion, the approved aid refers to business projects promoted by 10 men and 9 women, linked to the hospitality, services or commercial sector. Thus, among the businesses started up there is a renovation company, a home cleaning, a health and beauty company, a floral workshop, a greengrocer and a clothing store.
The Councilor for Employment recalled that "the objective of these grants is to facilitate entrepreneurs in Benidorm to start their business, with a direct contribution", and has encouraged "all those who want to implement a new company in Benidorm to consult the bases of this call that is open throughout the year ”.
Gómez has pointed out that, as in 2019, “we have reserved an item of 40,000 euros per year to meet these grants, which are determined quarterly and granted in the Technical Commission”. Aids, he said, "are paid in a single payment of 600 euros for entrepreneurs who process the opening license in the City Hall, and 400 euros for those self-employed workers who do not need a place to carry out their activity."
Among the conditions and requirements to qualify for this line of aid are not having appeared as a self-employed worker the previous six months. However, all documentation and information is available at the premises of the Agency for Employment and Local Promotion (AEDL), located on the ground floor of the City Hall, as well as at www.benidorm.org.
