The mayor has come to greet the director form Benidorm and to share with the cast of actors and extras, all from Benidorm
The director María Antón Cabot shoots a short film about Sylvia Plath in Benidorm
The young film director María Antón Cabot from Benidorm shoots in her hometown a short film about the North American poet Sylvia Plath in which a large cast of Benidorm residents intervene. The short will be presented on national and international circuits.
For this reason, Mayor Toni Pérez has approached the filming set, on Benidorm's Levante Beach, to greet the director and talk during a break during the filming with her, the technical team, actors and extras, to whom has greeted and wished a good shooting.
María Antón Cabot is director and editor. Despite her youth, she already has a career in film and advertising. Her works have been screened in film forums such as the Geneva Contemporary Art Show or the Seville European Film Festival, where in 2013 she screened her first feature film, “Pas à Genève”. She is also the director of the short film "El Racó". As an editor and screenwriter, she also has several highly recognized works and develops projects at the Elías Querejeta ZIne Eskola.
The American writer and poet Sylvia Plath and her honeymoon in Benidorm in the summer of 1956 is becoming very topical. Isabel Coixet already has her film “Nieva en Benidorm” ready, in which the North American poet (Pulitzer Prize, posthumous, in 1982) is also the protagonist, author of poems about Benidorm and literary descriptions of the correspondence she maintained while she lived in the town.
The audiovisual activity managed by Benidorm Film Office follows an important rhythm of filming and recordings. In addition to a short by María Antón, the winner of the first shortpitch of the Skyline Festival, “La temporada más fría”, is in the works, as well as several video clips. Strict control of sanitary security measures is maintained during all filming.
