The Department of Culture and the Frax Foundation schedule the second activity of Pedro Zaragoza Orts Year for Monday
Within the celebration of Pedro Zaragoza Orts Year and in line with the collaboration between the Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council and Frax Foundation, on Monday, May 30, at eight in the afternoon, in the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council a round table has been scheduled on the figure and work of this Favorite Son of Benidorm and the province of Alicante who was mayor of Benidorm between 1950 and 1966, and president of the Provincial Council for the following four years.
In the round table entitled "And Benidorm woke up: Pedro Zaragoza Orts", four prominent personalities will analyze the life and work of the illustrious Benidorm. The UA Professor of Regional Geographic Analysis, an expert in Tourism, Fernando Vera Rebollo, will share a panel with the UA Professor of Territory and Director of the Pedro Zaragoza Orts Chair, Armando Ortuño, and with the journalist and teacher of journalists of travel and tourism, Mariano López. The table will be completed by Francisco Zaragoza Ivars, lawyer and son of Pedro Zaragoza Orts.
From the Department of Culture, Councilor Jaime Jesús Pérez has highlighted that with this joint initiative with the Frax Foundation and after the event on Sunday, May 15, the centenary of the birth of the honoree and the start of the Pedro Zaragoza Year with the discovery of the stone inscription, in the fountain of the Plaza de la Hispanidad, 'To the illusion of a whole town', "this will be the first of the initiatives that both the Benidorm City Council and civil society develop this year that will run until the 14 May 2023”.
