Culture brings forward part of its theatre programming for September and October: ‘Lo mejor de Yllana’ and ‘La Dieta’
Tickets for the performances are now on sale
The Department of Culture has announced part of the theatre programme planned in Benidorm for September and October, which is added to the initiative of ‘Microteatro en l’Hort de Colón’ presented last week. According to the councillor for the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez, on 20 September at 8:30 pm ‘Lo mejor de Yllana’ will arrive in Benidorm, a show in which the company reviews its 25 years on stage with a selection of its best ‘sketches’; while on 19 October at 7 pm it will be the turn of ‘La Dieta’, a production by Teatro de la Sombra performed by Rafael Calvo.
Pérez has indicated that “both proposals will be staged in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre”, and has stressed that “shortly the rest of the programme that has been designed by the department for the next two months will be announced, in which, in addition to theatre, music will also have a prominent place”.
The Councillor for Culture has explained that in ‘Lo Mejor de Yllana’, “the followers of the company, who had asked us to return to Benidorm, will be able to make their wish of enjoying the funniest gags of its prolific career come true in the same show; while those who have not yet discovered Yllana will be able to do so in the best possible way, with its most mythical and hilarious moments”.
Regarding ‘La Dieta’, Pérez explained that in this work “the protagonist will reflect with the public on the human condition in its most everyday aspects, based on his experience to fight against being overweight”.
