Hundreds of people witnessed the event, held on Gambo Street, in which the major 'falleras' invited the city to participate in these festivities

The 'Crida' announces the start of Benidorm Fallas 2019

La ‘Crida’ anuncia el inicio de las Fallas de Benidorm 2019

Hundreds of residents and visitors came to witness the 'Crida' on Gambo Street, the act with which the three fallas commissions of Benidorm announced this afternoon the start of the Fallas 2019. The mayor of Benidorm was present at the event, Toni Pérez, the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the councillors José Ramón González de Zárate, Lorenzo Martínez, María Jesús Pinto, Arturo Cabrillo and Conrado Hernández.

Toni Pérez addressed some attendees, especially thanking "the work and effort they make from the commissions to keep a party that has all the Valencian tradition." The mayor has also invited visitors and tourists from Benidorm who were witnessing the act to "return to Fallas to enjoy a festivity open to everybody and the sun of Benidorm."

Before the words of the mayor, the president of the Fallera Local Board, Javier Rico, the representatives of the three commissions with their banners and the major falleras: Selena Cortés and Nadia Mayor as the falleras major and infant of Els Tolls; Alba López and Marina Vaquer as major and child falleras of Falla Rincón; and Valeria del Sufragio Sánchez as Falla mayor infantil of Falla Benidorm, went up to the stage.

The five falleras gave a joint speech in which they encouraged the city to participate in its 'josefinas fiestas' and to maintain the fallera tradition, ending with the traditional "Vixca les falles i Vixca Benidorm!". To finish the act the hymns of Benidorm and the Valencian Community sounded.
