The City Council is preparing a second installment of the ‘Menjadors a casa’ program, which will reach more than 1,000 minors
Benidorm City Council has today completed the first installment of the municipal program 'Menjadors a casa' with a highly positive balance as more than 550 students have received menus for ten days, so they are already preparing a second installment addressed to all of the students awarded with a grant for dinning by the Regional Government in Benidorm for the 2nd cycle of Infant and Primary beneficiaries of the school canteen grants types B, C, D, E and F -all of them excluded from the voucher program by the Generalitat-, thus reaching the municipal program a total of 1,000 schoolchildren.
This was communicated yesterday by the mayor, Toni Pérez, to political groups, who also informed that the City Council was serving more than 60 minor beneficiaries of the Type A scholarship, which covers the entire cost of the service, which they have stated incidents in the reception of the 'purchase vouchers' of the Department of Education.
As explained by the mayor, "today, without knowing if the Ministry is going to continue without attending to the students who have an approved and valid scholarship for the entire course, from Benidorm a new distribution will be made to all the beneficiary schoolchildren of them, except in principle those of type A, within our local program of elaborated menus ”.
This second distribution will be made again at the delivery points enabled by the City Council in all the neighborhoods of Benidorm and which are located in Casa del Fester, José Llorca Linares social center, Les Caletes Municipal Children's School and CEIP El Murtal , Ausiàs March and Els Tolls, confirmed the mayor "because the system has worked frankly well as hundreds of parents and also the local educational communities have transferred us".
Meanwhile, the City Council has also attended to families of beneficiaries of type A grants for dinning who have suffered some incidence with the purchase vouchers ’system promoted by the Ministry. Some vouchers amounting to 60 euros biweekly that families can exchange in a supermarket chain.
The mayor has pointed out that "unfortunately this system has not been without incidents", a circumstance that has already been communicated to the Generalitat "due to the logical concern that this situation generates for us; We were cautious before the regional program but unfortunately we were right and those who most need it could have been left unprotected, but our forecast in deliveries has allowed us to attend to the cases we have detected, more than 60, having had to resort to the collaboration of the centers themselves educational, to which the Ministry has indicated for the communication of incidents in its program, in order to know which families were in this situation.
Toni Pérez has advanced that "in case the Ministry cannot immediately solve these incidents, or decides not to extend the attention to all these students, the City Council we will do what we have already done, likewise attend to minors and their families without distinguishing the type of scholarship that they have under the municipal program 'Menjadors a casa' ”.
