Education takes advantage of the school 'break' to undertake various actions before the students return to the classroom
The City Council makes improvements in 10 educational centers in Benidorm during the Christmas holidays
Benidorm City Council has taken advantage of the Christmas school holidays to carry out improvement actions in a dozen educational centers in the city. As of today, practically all of the planned actions have been completed, as requested by the educational community of the centers themselves, as verified by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno; and the mayor of Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate.
Toni Pérez explained that "depending on the cases, these interventions have made it possible to improve the safety and comfort of school routes or the state of some spaces in educational centers, gaining in accessibility and benefits".
Toni Pérez has recalled that "both in summer and at Christmas and Easter, we take advantage of the absence of students to fine-tune our city's school park, in a strategy of attention and constant improvement in which we work hand in hand and in Coordination with the educational centers themselves. The mayor has pointed out that "although the bulk of the improvement actions are undertaken in the summer season, during the Christmas and Easter holiday periods the needs that have arisen during the course of the course are resolved."
Among the improvements made in recent weeks is the construction of an accessible ramp in the Early Childhood Education playground of CEIP Serra Gelada. The mayor has said, "in recent years the City Council has acted in the Infant playgrounds of practically all schools, renovating pavements and games, generating shaded spaces or facilitating accessibility for students."
At CEIP Els Tolls, the leaks in the gym have been repaired and several sections of the façade have been waterproofed. Previously, in mid-December, the road that gives access from the Italia street car park to this center, the CEIP Puig Campana, and the Les Fontanelles municipal nursery school was improved, in which new lighting was also installed. In this last center, the doors of the facilities have been renewed.
Also at CEIP El Murtal, action has been taken on the leaks in the gym; while in the Foietes school zone, the back of the CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa has been fenced off, which adjoins the TRAM infrastructure. On the other hand, awnings have been installed in the CEIP Bautista Lledó and La Cala and in the Tossalet nursery school.
Added to these actions is the improvement of accessibility in the surroundings of CEIP Miguel Hernández, specifically in Nicaragua and Azucenas streets, where sidewalks have been widened, trees planted, lighting installed, asphalt renewed and traffic light and crossroad safety reinforced.
El Ayuntamiento de Benidorm ha aprovechado las vacaciones escolares de Navidad para realizar actuaciones de mejora en una decena de centros educativos de la ciudad. A fecha de hoy, ya han finalizado la práctica totalidad de las actuaciones previstas, solicitadas por la comunidad educativa de los propios centros, tal y como han comprobado el alcalde, Toni Pérez; la concejal de Educación, Maite Moreno; y el edil de Espacio Público, José Ramón González de Zárate.
Toni Pérez ha explicado que “en función de los casos estas intervenciones han permitido mejorar la seguridad y confortabilidad de los itinerarios escolares o el estado de algunos espacios de los centros educativos, ganando en accesibilidad y prestaciones”.
Toni Pérez ha recodado que “tanto en verano como en Navidad y Semana Santa, aprovechamos la ausencia de alumnado para poner a punto el parque escolar de nuestra ciudad, en una estrategia de atención y mejora constante en la que se trabaja mano a mano y en coordinación con los propios centros educativos”. El alcalde ha señalado que “aunque el grueso de las actuaciones de mejora se acometen en la temporada estival, durante los periodos de vacaciones navideñas y Pascua se resuelven las necesidades que han ido surgiendo durante el transcurso del curso”.
Entre las mejoras realizadas estas últimas semanas está la construcción de una rampa accesible en el patio de Educación Infantil del CEIP Serra Gelada. El alcalde ha trasladado que “en los últimos años el Ayuntamiento ha actuado en los patios de Infantil de prácticamente todos los centros escolares, renovando pavimentos y juegos, generando espacios de sombra o facilitando la accesibilidad del alumnado”.
En el CEIP Els Tolls se han reparado las goteras del gimnasio y se ha procedido a la impermeabilización de varios tramos de la fachada. Previamente, a mediados de diciembre, se mejoró el camino que da acceso desde el parking de la calle Italia a este centro, al CEIP Puig Campana y a la escuela infantil municipal Les Fontanelles, en el que también se ha instalado nuevo alumbrado. En este último centro se han renovado las puertas de las instalaciones.
También en el CEIP El Murtal se ha actuado sobre las goteras del gimnasio; mientras que en la zona escolar de Foietes, se ha vallado la parte trasera del CEIP Vasco Núñez de Balboa que linda con la infraestructura del TRAM. Por otro lado, se han instalado toldos en los CEIP Bautista Lledó y La Cala y en la escuela infantil Tossalet.
A estas actuaciones se suma la mejora de la accesibilidad en el entorno del CEIP Miguel Hernández, concretamente en las calles Nicaragua y Azucenas, donde se han ampliado aceras, plantado arbolado, instalado iluminación, renovado el asfalto y reforzado la seguridad semafórica y en los cruces.
