A City Council closer to neighbors with the 'Guide of services for citizenship'

24 October 2017
Un Ayuntamiento más próximo a los vecinos con la ‘Guía de servicios para la ciudadanía’

A map of the city is included and facilitates the accomplishment of the administrative procedures to the citizens

The Councilor for Citizen Participation, María Jesús Pinto, has presented this morning the new 'Guide of services for citizenship' edited by the City Council. A document that aims to "bring the Administration closer to citizens," said the councilwoman who has appeared before the media flanked by the director of the Employment Workshop 'Benidom V', José Antonio Fernández, and the director of the Agency of Employment and Local Development (AEDL), José Antonio Núñez de Cela.

The guide, said Pinto, is a compendium of the most significant steps that can be carried out face-to-face in municipal administrative extensions and also online, through the electronic headquarters of the municipal website. An instrument of citizen participation and "a compilation of the most usual procedures" that are carried out in the local administration.

María Jesús Pinto stressed that the guide has been carried out collaboratively from the councils of Employment, Promotion and Local Development, and Citizen Service through the 'Benidorm V' Employment Workshop, which was launched in collaboration with SERVEF Valencian Employment and Training), and funded by the European Social Fund. In the workshop, students are trained in 'Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services' and 'Administrative activities in the relationship with the client'. Pinto thanked "the effort" made by the students and the director and has been convinced that it will be "very useful" for all neighbors

For José Antonio Fernández this is a "very practical" guide with a map of the city "with the centers and the telephones of interest included". It has also announced that it is studying "to make the digital version" to bring "even more" services to citizens; so that it can be consulted from a tablet, or a smartphone. For his part, Núñez de Cela, has pointed out that "a total of 5,000 copies" have been printed with a final cost of 1,848 euros.

Benidorm City Council has already begun distributing the guide in all municipal offices. After the first impressions of municipal technicians and users, the director of AEDL highlighted "the great utility" of this instrument of participation in areas such as statistics, reception, switchboard, registration and "especially" for the Department of Social Welfare and Local Police.
