The Benidorm VII Employment Workshop, in which 20 people participate, combines training and practice
The City Council of Benidorm allocates 470,302 euros to labor insertion
The Councilor for Employment and Local Development of Benidorm City Council, Mª Jesús Pinto, has announced the start-up of the Benidorm VII Employment Workshop that will allow training and preparation for access to work for 20 people, over 25 years of age, in unemployment situation in the city.
For the implementation of the project, Benidorm City Council has obtained a grant of 399,660 euros from the European Social Fund, through Labora (the former Servef), the General Directorate of Employment and Training of the Generalitat, which will add 70,642.70 euros from the municipal budget. The total cost of Benidorm VII Employment Workshop will amount to 470,302.70 euros.
Mª Jesús Pinto indicated that this initiative will develop two specialties: 'Auxiliary operations of rigid finishes and urbanization' (masonry) and 'Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services'. "To participate," the councillor stressed, "the candidates must be previously registered as unemployed in Labora." By participating in the project "they will also receive a remuneration equivalent to the Minimum Interprofessional Salary" (SMI). Pinto has also influenced the instructive aspect of Benidorm VII since "as a result of the training, the members will obtain a certificate of professionalism that will facilitate their subsequent access to the world of work".
The duration of Benidorm VII Employment Workshop will be one year. It will start on December 29, 2018 and is scheduled to be completed on the 28th of the same month of 2019. The Employment Workshops have the objective of increasing the chances of finding a job to the people who participate in them. The practices of the masonry workshop will consist of improvement works of the municipal facilities of the Aigüera Park and those of administrative services will be carried out in the Service of Attention and Information to residents and citizens of Benidorm.
