The City Council begins the arrangement of the pavement of Óscar Esplá in l'Aigüera amphitheater

The works have a cost of around 60,000 euros

This Friday the works of arrangement of the pavement of the amphitheater Óscar Esplá in l'Aigüera Park have begun. This action involves replacing the pavement of the central circle of the amphitheater and also arranging the two entrances to the amphitheater from the park's aisle and from Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España. The councillors of Culture and Works, Ana Pellicer and José Ramón González de Zárate, have approached this morning to the amphitheater to follow the beginning of the works accompanied by the spokesman of the Compromís-Los Verdes group, Josep Bigorra, who in the last plenary session presented a motion related to l'Aigüera Park. The proposal that was unanimously approved includes the preparation of a technical and economic report on the current state of the park and the drafting of a rehabilitation project to carry it out in phases, incorporating a line in the 2017 budget to cover this project and that the necessary works are carried out in a maximum period of three years. Pellicer said that "with this action we advance to a first phase of rehabilitation and we are already starting to comply with this agreement taking advantage of the remainder of this year's budget." The councillor indicated that it has been chosen to act at Óscar Esplá, where many cultural activities are celebrated throughout the year, "in view of the fact that the pavement of this facility was in a bad state." The work consists of the demolition of the current pavement and its replacement by marble of greater thickness, which allows to gain resistance in the face of the transit of vehicles for the assembly of events and the installation of the stage on which all the activities are developed. In addition to acting in the central circle and in a stretch of 5 or 6 meters in each of the accesses, several arrangements will also be made in the amphitheater. The cost of this action is around 60,000 euros and work will be completed in the last week of December. During the duration of the works, and depending on the point in which the works are centered, the passage of passers-by through the Óscar Esplá will be regulated.
