About 4,500 club members will gather at Vía Parque grounds starting Friday
The City Council and the Clubs Association are finalizing the setup of the venue that will host Les Penyes Camp this weekend

There will be a special taxi rank and two parking zones on each side of the avenue.
The City Council will launch an initiative with the clubs to advertise the 700th anniversary of the city on social media.
Benidorm City Council, through various departments such as Fiestas, Mobility, Urban Scene, Parks and Gardens, and the Verge del Sofratge Association, are finalising preparations for the Juan Pablo II Avenue site in Vía Parque, which will host the traditional "Acampada de les Penyes" (Festival of the Patron Saints) starting early this Friday. The event will bring together around 4,500 people, including adults and children, until Sunday afternoon for "a weekend of socialising and a reminder that there is just over half a year left until the celebration of the Festes Majors Patronals," as stated by the Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros.
According to data provided by the Association of Peñas (Ponyes), this year a total of 208 groups have registered to participate in the Camp, occupying the 279 designated plots, making this event "one of the most crowded events on the city's festival calendar," Cebreros emphasised.
The Camp will open on Friday, the 25th at 8:00 a.m. and will feature musical and DJ performances, inflatable games for children, and other activities organised by both the Association and individual groups throughout the weekend, all to ensure fun for all participants.
To facilitate access and mobility for people traveling to this event, the City Council has designed a specific system, which will include a taxi rank in front of the venue, a special Local Police service, as well as two large parking areas: one next to the venue and another in front of it, whose entrances and exits will be marked so they are visible to drivers. The City Council also reminds drivers that, as in previous years, parking is prohibited on the sidewalks of the avenue, as well as on the entire front of the venue, which is reserved for special bus and taxi ranks and Local Police, health and emergency services vehicles. Cars, mopeds, or motorcycles that are parked illegally may be towed away.
Likewise, as part of the preparations for the venue, electricity and water points, restrooms, and other services have also been installed. Phytosanitary treatments have been applied throughout the area, vegetation has been cleared, and low trees have been removed to ensure safety and facilitate the movement of people.
The Departments of Fiestas and the Environment have reminded everyone that, as in previous years, fires on the ground or in barbecues are prohibited, nor are electric grills allowed. Only gas is permitted. They also request the collaboration of the club members so that "at the end of the Camp, the grounds are completely clean and free of waste, with all trash being deposited in the containers installed at the Camp entrance."
On another note, to strengthen awareness-raising efforts regarding responsible alcohol consumption and preventing underage drinking, the Community Prevention Unit for Addictive Behaviours (UPCCA) of the Department of Social Welfare will once again launch the "Coneixement" campaign on Saturday morning.
Also on Saturday morning, the Department of Equality will set up a "purple point" to promote a sexual harassment-free party. As a new feature this year, the City Council will also carry out a social media campaign with supporters' clubs to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Benidorm's founding.
