Centenary of the presence in Benidorm of the HHDC
On the occasion of the celebration of the first centenary of the establishment in Benidorm of the religious congregation Hermanas de la Doctrina Cristiana (HHDC), founded by Mother Micaela Grau, the precursor of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores that began its teaching activity in 1966, the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has hosted the conference 'A century educating in Christian values', by the General Secretary of Catholic Schools, Pedro José Huerta Nuño.
Among the attendees who filled the municipal hall, were the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, as well as a large representation of the government team: Ana Pellicer, Aida García Mayor, Mónica Gómez, and Jaime Jesús Pérez, all former students of the catholic center.
Before Huerta Nuño's conference, the Sister Superior of the HHDC order, Guadalupe Herranz, and the president of Madre Micaela Educational Foundation, Manuel Ávila, spoke. For his part, Toni Pérez closed the event by recalling the important role of the school in the training of generations of people from Benidorm and its integration, as arranged, in the public educational offer of the city that includes compulsory Infant, Primary and Secondary Education.
