Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, winner of the 2025 Skyliner Award at the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival

The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is honoured to announce that the 2025 Skyliner Award will be presented to actress, journalist, and presenter Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, in recognition of her contribution to the short film industry and for her support and promotion through the Versión Española Short Film Competition.
A key figure in the audiovisual industry, Cayetana Guillén Cuervo has built a versatile and admirable career. Her work in film, with memorable performances in films such as Una pistola en cada mano (2012) by Cesc Gay, and El abuelo (1998) by José Luis Garci, a film nominated for an Oscar and for which Cayetana also received a Goya Award nomination for Best Leading Actress, has been acclaimed by critics and audiences. On television, she has left her mark on generations with her participation in iconic series such as El Ministerio del Tiempo (The Ministry of Time) and her work as a presenter on Versión Española. This program has promoted arthouse cinema and emerging talent for over two decades.
Her commitment to Spanish short films has been reflected in her support for the Versión Española / SGAE Short Film Competition, which has served as a platform for identifying filmmakers who are today's great directors of Spanish cinema. Many of them have recognized the value of this competition as a fundamental starting point in their careers, where the spotlight has been placed on the best of emerging talent.
Furthermore, Versión Española has been a benchmark as a school for viewers, teaching several generations to perceive Spanish cinema differently, to understand who we are, and to give meaning to its professionals. All of this has been possible thanks to her work as a public service on Televisión Española, strengthening as a fundamental space for the dissemination and revaluation of the cinema in our country.
Also worth noting is Cayetana's participation in short films such as Buen Viaje (Good Trip), Sexo en el Plató (Sex on the Set), Manolito Espinberg, Une Vie de Cinéma (Manolito Espinberg, a Life of Cinema), Los Amigos del Muerto (Friends of the Dead), and the special Antes de que no hay tiempo (Before There's No Time).
Each year, the Skyliner Award recognizes a personality whose impact on cinema and audiovisual culture has been significant. Cayetana Guillén Cuervo's selection reflects not only her prolific career, but also her championing of creativity, her support of young talent, and her contribution to the promotion of independent cinema. Her ability to build bridges between generations and her passion for storytelling have left an indelible mark on the industry.

The award ceremony will take place at the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival's opening gala on March 29th.
