Casa del Fester hosts from today the exhibition of the XX School Drawing and Painting Contest of ACR La Barqueta
The jury's decision will be known on March 17 in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall
The twentieth edition of the ACR La Barqueta School Drawing and Painting Contest, with which the Department of Culture collaborates, has broken the participation record with a total of 2,200 drawings by students in the first, second, and third cycles of Primary School of all Benidorm schools. Of all the works, the entity has selected 410 drawings that are on display from today at the Casa del Fester.
The inauguration of the exhibition was attended today by Mayor Toni Pérez, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and several members of the government team and the municipal corporation, together with Francisco Llorens, president of the ACR La Barqueta. Pérez highlighted the "great participation once again of the city's schoolchildren, which has allowed the record of drawings presented to be exceeded."
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez thanked schools, teachers, students, and "as always" La Barqueta for "having been at the side of culture and promoting our local traditions such as festivals and the Finding of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge”.
The mayor also expressed his satisfaction for having managed once again to exceed the participation of previous editions "and that La Barqueta continues to promote and extend our traditions.
The exhibition can be visited at the Casa del Fester until March 17, the date on which the jury's decision will be read. This event will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall at 6:00 p.m. and the prizes will also be awarded there to the winners in each of the Primary Education cycles.
