On this playful and environmental awareness day, which was also attended by the councillors for the Environment and Education, Mónica Gómez and Maite Moreno, the Primary students received the help of students from the Gardening training cycle of the IES l'Almadrava during the planting process.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "21 years have passed since we began to plant in this space of the Thematic Projects Society of the Valencian Community (SPTCV), which from 2007 we called 'Bosc dels xiquets', an area of 5,000 square meters" year after year adds new copies.

As in previous editions "it has been decided to plant bush and tree species of the land such as esparto grass, rosemary, ephedra, blade, Cartagena cypress and stone pine", whose adaptability to the land is much better.

The mayor highlighted that "this year we also joined the #UnÁrbolPorEuropa", an initiative promoted by the youth association Equipo Europa in collaboration with the Office of the European Parliament in Spain, and with which "Benidorm is committed to continuing acting in what local to contribute to "a global objective" which is "the improvement of the planet".

At this point, he has stressed that this initiative "fits perfectly into the entire city strategy that we drew up around 7 years ago with the Benidorm Strategic Plan, in which environmental sustainability has a lot to do with what we want for the present and future of the new generations. Sustainability, he has added, “must also be social and economic”.

In the 'Arbor Day' organized by the Departments of the Environment and Education of the City Council, the Ministry of the Environment collaborates, which facilitates the specimens of trees and shrubs; the SPTCV, which gives the space and makes its Gardening staff available to the initiative; as well as the municipal Brigades and various concessionaires. In addition, on this occasion staff from the EMPUJU and ECOVID employment programs were also involved.
