Bicycle Sunday in Benidorm within the European Mobility Week

Among the activities organized by Benidorm City Council on the occasion of European Mobility Week, 'Bicycle Day' was celebrated with a cycling route that started, after 10.30 a.m., from Paseo de Levante in the direction to Torre de les Caletes, in the heart of Serra Gelada Natural Park.
Among the participants, the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, along with other members of the government team, including the regional deputy José Ramón González de Zárate.

It has been an “iconic tour” through one of the enclaves of high ecological value in Benidorm, said Muñoz, who recalled that shortly and within the IDAE (Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving) program, the public lighting of the uphill route will be renewed to La Cruz with hybrid lighting, which is what allows solar energy to be generated.

Francis Muñoz emphasized that "Benidorm is a city by and for bicycles", that it has "more than 117 km of bike lanes" and that, "being very flat, it allows for comfortable pedaling." The councilor has clarified that “in less than ten minutes” you can travel from top to bottom by bicycle.

Finally, Muñoz thanked the residents for participating in the European Mobility Week events and encouraged them to repeat tomorrow in the day dedicated to the ecological vehicle, in the Plaza de sus Majestades los Reyes de España, where it will be installed. , starting at 11:00 in the morning, an exhibition of vehicles from the dealership companies that provide service in the city.
