In the five offices, the majority of the procedures were related to the census (88%)

Benidorm's Municipal branches carried out more than 83,000 procedures and services in 2023

30 January 2024
Extensión Administrativa de Benidorm

The municipal branches of Benidorm reached 83,239 procedures and services to citizens last year, according to the 2023 activities report of these municipal offices. Benidorm has five offices in various areas of the city: La Cala (c/ Secretary Juan Antonio Baldoví, 2), Foietes-Colonia Madrid (Av. Beniardá, 61), Rincón de Loix (Av. Juan Fuster Zaragoza, 1), Els Tolls-Salt de l'Aigüa (Av. Andalucía, 9) and Alfredo Corral-Maravall-Plaza de España (c/ Maravall, 33).

The attention and procedures that were carried out can be divided into four categories.

On the one hand, those relating to the Municipal Register of Inhabitants, which were the most numerous by far, totalling 88.06%; then those that required Entry Registries in the different municipal areas (5.82%), the procedures that did not require registration (5.80%) and, finally, the management of fees (0.32%).

In absolute figures, the procedures related to the Statistics and Population department – which includes the registry of inhabitants – amounted to 74,096 services. More than 4,300 procedures were registered in the different municipal areas and a very similar number fell within the procedures that did not require registration. The administrative extensions also processed 418 procedures related to the payment of municipal taxes. It is noteworthy that 860 services were provided to citizens who needed proof of life and that these offices facilitated the procedures for downloading or providing information on 700 vouchers from #BenidormTeDaMás campaign.

As for the offices, the one that registered the most activity was that of Rincón de Loix, which handled a total of 22,539 procedures requested by citizens. The second largest volume was in the branch of Foietes-Colonia Madrid with 19,390 services. It was followed by Els Tolls-Salt de l’Aigüa with 16,778 and then La Cala with 14,313. Finally,  Alfredo Corral-Maravall-Plaza de España office totalled 10,219 procedures carried out.

The Councilor for Statistics, Mónica Gómez, has been “satisfied” with the results of the activities report “because this high number of procedures shows that it is necessary to keep the local administration close to citizens and help them in their procedures in their neighbourhood without moving to City Hall.”

The Municipal branches are “close to the neighbours” and in them, she recalled, “almost any management can be carried out.” The councillor pointed out that the City Council will continue to maintain this commitment "because the results and the reception of the citizens are proving us right."
