Benidorm’s La Vuelta cycling event recognised by La Vuelta with the ‘Más Bici’ seal for its commitment to sustainable mobility and the promotion of cycling
The city of Benidorm has been recognised by La Vuelta Ciclista a España with the ‘Más Bici’ seal, a mark of recognition awarded, following an assessment, to cities that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainable mobility and the promotion of cycling in everyday life. The initiative highlights good practices in this area while also identifying opportunities for improvement.
Councillor for Sports Javier Jordá received the recognition on Sunday from Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta a España (Unipublic), and Toni Pérez, President of the Provincial Council of Alicante and Mayor of Benidorm, as the race’s peloton passed through the province.
The criteria used to award the seal assess the progress made by different cities across five key areas: governance, infrastructure, services and education, sport, and tourism. “These are areas in which Benidorm has achieved an excellent assessment,” Jordá highlighted.
