Benidorm's beaches already have the 'S' mark for Tourism Sustainability
Benidorm is one of the first destinations to obtain the new 'S' mark, which is a guarantee of compliance with the SDGs in the management and services provided on the beaches
The beaches of Benidorm already have the 'S' mark for Tourism Sustainability, a badge recently created by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) to guarantee compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding the management and provision of tourists services, in this case of the beaches.
Benidorm thus becomes "one of the first destinations in Spain to conquer this new quality brand, which has very demanding criteria and which comes to recognize our effort for excellence in what is undoubtedly our main tourist attraction: the beaches.”, according to what the mayor, Toni Pérez, pointed out today after collecting this certification last night from the Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto.
The delivery of the 'S' for Sustainability took place during Q Night, an event organized by the ICTE at the Palacio de Cristal de Cibeles in Madrid, in which the president of the ICTE, Pedro Mirones, also participated, and in which Benidorm also participated it collected the 'Q' for Quality, which it has awarded for its DTI management system, complying with the parameters established by the UNE 178501 standard, and its tourist offices; and that once again has been renovated for its beaches. An award, the latter, which was collected by the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros.
