Benidorm will request a subsidy to the Provincial Council of Alicante to renovate Polop Street

21 June 2019
Benidorm solicitará una subvención a Diputación Provincial de Alicante para renovar la calle Polop

Benidorm City Council is going to request a subsidy to the Provincial Council of Alicante to renovate the urban infrastructures of Polop Street. The councilman of Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated that this Tuesday, June 25, "the Local Government Board will approve the project drafted by municipal technicians" to qualify for "the call for grants from the Provincial Council in favor of the municipalities of the province for financially sustainable investments ", published on June 4 in the Official Bulletin of the Province (BOP).

De Zárate has indicated that with the participation in this call "we continue in the line of requesting subsidies to other administrations to make new infrastructures and improve the services of the city", and "we also maintain our commitment to renew the urban scene and the hydraulic infrastructures : drinking water, sewerage and storm water networks ".

The councillor has pointed out that "the City Council picks up the petition of the neighbors" by proposing "the comprehensive renovation of Polop Street", a road "very close to the TRAM station through which hundreds of passengers pass through", and that It is also located next to one of the main entrances to Benidorm: Beniardá Avenue.

The project drafted by the municipal technicians amounts to 142,790 euros. The maximum amount that can be subsidized by the Provincial Council of Alicante is 125,000 euros, so that if the aid is received, the City Council must contribute the remaining 17,790 euros.

De Zárate has trusted that Benidorm receives this subsidy, although it has been advanced that otherwise this action on Polop Street will be addressed with municipal funds.
