Benidorm finishes its participation in the International Fair of Tourism of Madrid (Fitur) that starts this Wednesday, January 18, in which the city will present its sports offer and an advance of the musical events that will be celebrated throughout 2017.
In the fair, Benidorm will have its own space within the Comunidad Valenciana stand, of more than 1,700 square meters and in which will also be integrated the other five tourist brands of the region: Costa Blanca, València Turisme, Castellón Mediterráneo, Alicante and Tourism Valencia. A stand that the Valencian Tourist Agency (AVT) has presented this morning in Valencia, which will be located in pavillion 7 of IFEMA, and in which the space of Benidorm will be presided over by images of the beaches of the city with the skyline and the cliff of the Castle.
The presentation of the stand was attended by the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer; and the manager of Visit Benidorm Foundation, Leire Bilbao.
In Fitur Benidorm will also assert its weight as a sustainable and intelligent destination. Thus, the mayor, Toni Pérez, will participate in a round table on Smart Tourist Destinations together with the Director of Sustainable Development of Tourism of the WTO, Dirk Glaesser; The councillor of Tourism, Economic Development, Health and Welfare of the Val d'Aran, Anna Díaz; and José Luis Gil, professor of Water and Environmental Sciences and Techniques at the University of Cantabria and adviser to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. In this 'smart talk', the mayor will address the actions and technologies implemented in Benidorm to advance in matters of smart tourism.
Like the previous year, the LGBT offer will be exhibited at Fitur Gay, located in pavillion 3 of Ifema, where the next edition of Benidorm Pride will be presented. In addition, the fair will serve to hold working meetings with tour operators, airlines and those responsible for Turespaña offices in different countries and European capitals that are interesting markets for the city.
