Benidorm will hire and train 20 young people in gardening and environmental education for a year with the 'T'Avalem' program
Tomorrow opens the deadline for registration of the teaching staff who will be in charge of the program, subsidized by LABORA with nearly 530,000 euros
Benidorm City Council will hire and train 20 unemployed young people under 30 years of age for one year with the 'T'Avalem Benidorm' project, which in this edition has chosen “two training modalities linked to sustainability”, as specified by the councillor of Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez.
For this training and employment program, Benidorm City Council has obtained, through LABORA, a subsidy of 528,256.80 euros from the European Social Fund. This subsidy will be completed with a municipal contribution of 50,000 euros.
Gómez stressed that "this program is aimed at young people between 16 and 30 years old and is a great opportunity for people interested in improving their employability or expanding their knowledge in a new speciality."
In the 2024 edition, 10 young people will be trained in 'Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers' (AGAO0108) and in 'Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas'; while the second group will do so in 'Environmental interpretation and education' (SEAG0109).
The councillor has pointed out that "in this edition, we once again include a level 3 certificate, which is the highest range of qualifications in professional accreditations, in this case launching training in environmental education."
As Gómez recalled, 'T'Avalem' is “a mixed employment and training program, in which students receive theoretical and practical training; knowledge that the project will be applied to work of public interest.” Specifically, the students of the gardening modality will be in charge of the execution of a Mediterranean garden next to the skatepark located next to Palau d'Esports l'Illa; the participants of the environmental education group will develop different actions in coordination with the Department of the Environment.
People interested in participating in 'T'Avalem Benidorm Jove', in addition to being under 30 years of age, will have to be registered as unemployed in the Youth Guarantee program and LABORA with the required training code; a procedure that they can already carry out.
Also starting tomorrow, the registration period for management and teaching staff begins, thus launching the selection process for the teachers in charge of teaching these training modalities.
