With this new platform, an action by EDUSI, Benidorm will improve transparency with citizens and streamline the management of works
Benidorm will have a Smart platform that will allow residents to see the works in progress in real time
Benidorm City Council continues its drive for the digitalization of its municipal management with a new intelligent open platform: Smart Obras. The application, an action framed in the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy of Benidorm, will improve the efficiency of management and services, allowing real-time monitoring of the different works carried out in the city.
“The Smart Works platform will allow our neighbors to have all the information on the works carried out in Benidorm in real time,” explained the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez. “With this action, which is part of our drive towards a smart Benidorm, we improve our management of the works while facilitating the daily lives of our neighbors with a new online information channel.”
The platform will have three types of profiles, one for each actor involved in the works. Thus, City Council workers, construction contractor companies, and residents will be able to access this new portal. The Smart Works platform will have an interactive map of Benidorm where the different works planned and in progress will appear: citizens will thus be able to know the location of these, the status of the interventions and see traffic detours in advance to plan their routes.
The open Smart Obras portal will not only improve transparency with citizens but will also allow the City Council to streamline the management of work. In the profiles of public workers and contracting companies, users will be able to upload work documentation, monitoring reports, and the execution deadline, among other functionalities.
The Smart Obras platform responds to the thematic objectives of “improving the use and quality of information and communications technologies and access to them” and “promotion of ICT in Integrated Urban Development Strategies”. through actions in local electronic administration and smart cities” of the EDUSI of Benidorm.
