The Board of Spokespersons supports the proposal of the commission of ‘Ciutat de Benidorm’ award

Benidorm will grant its cultural distinction to Dr. Eusebi Chiner i Vives

18 September 2019
Benidorm concederá su distinción cultural al doctor Eusebi Chiner i Vives

The delivery will be made in the institutional plenary of ‘October 9’

The City Council will grant to the doctor of Medicine Eusebi Chiner i Vives the cultural distinction ‘Ciutat de Benidorm’, which is delivered annually on October 9, coinciding with the celebration of the Valencian Community Day. The Board of Spokesmen has unanimously endorsed that the award goes to Chiner, as proposed by the Commission responsible for this distinction, composed of the winners of previous editions.

With this distinction, Chiner's contribution to the study and knowledge of Benidorm's history, culture and traditions is recognized; a work that the doctor develops in an altruistic way and as a complement to his professional activity as head of the Pulmonology Service of San Juan Hospital.

Chiner, who in 2017 obtained recognition as ‘Exemplary Neighbor’, is “a Renaissance man who has collaborated in multiple cultural events”. Among them, that same year, the choral commissioner of the exhibition "The legacy of our sailors." Benidorm and the Merchant Marine ’, which was exhibited at the Boca Calvari Museum; as well as the publication of various articles on the culture, traditions, customs and life of Benidorm in the past and present.

The delivery of the distinction will be made in the institutional plenary of October 9.
