Benidorm will clear the paths and cattle tracks of rubble and thickets in El Moralet

02 January 2020
Benidorm limpiará de escombros y matorrales los caminos y vías pecuarias de El Moralet

Benidorm City Council will proceed to clean woody thickets, debris and waste in rural roads and cattle tracks in El Moralet area, as reported by the Councilor for Public Space and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate. To carry out this action, two contracts have been approved for a total amount of 35,186.20 euros.

De Zárate has pointed out that “the Street Cleaning department, all our municipal area has been inspected together with the Rural Police of the Local Police and we will act in the area where we have detected major problems, both of rubble and scrub in El Moralet area from the TRAM station to La Cala ”. In all this area "we are going to make a powerful action so that people can enjoy our rural areas", while "we carry out a public awareness work to avoid the dumping of rubble in our green spaces."

In this regard, the councilor recalled that "Benidorm has an ecopark in Partida Foia del Ca, next to the CV-758 road that connects with Finestrat, where debris or inert products of up to 50 kilos can be deposited." In addition, these facilities can also be delivered other bulky waste such as furniture, appliances, mattresses, bed bases, boxes, frames, doors, and vegetables and garden debris.

A company specializing in agricultural services will be responsible for the cleaning of the woody thicket, while the removal of debris and other inerts will be carried out by a company specialized in the environment.

De Zárate has advanced that “in the next contract for street cleaning and urban solid waste collection, whose specifications are already being studied, it will be included the obligation by the concessionaire to perform these two services that we are now hiring extraordinarily” .
