Benidorm will become the main venue for the Spanish Handball Championship of Regional Teams (CESA), which will be held from January 3 to 8 in the province. And it is that during that week the town will be the hotel epicenter of the competition receiving more than 45,000 overnight stays from athletes as well as technical staff and fans who will enjoy handball on the Costa Blanca.

The CESA will have the province of Alicante as the setting for the largest grassroots sports festival at a national level, in which more than 3,000 athletes between the ages of 12 and 18 will take part.
Eleven towns in the Marina Baixa, Alta, and l'Alacantí regions will host the more than 300 matches that will be played in the child, cadet, and youth categories in 14 first-class facilities at the level of the Championship and the Cup of Spain.

The handball federation of the Valencian Community has had the support of institutions such as the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, the Higher Sports Council, the Generalitat Valenciana, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, the Diputación de Alicante and the Board of Trustees of Tourism Costa Blanca, in addition to the town halls of the towns that will host, including Benidorm.

The president of the Community Handball Federation, Pedro Fuertes, thanked the institutions for their support and involvement and stressed "the potential that the Valencian territory has to host major national and international events, thanks to the quality of its facilities and the public-private collaboration.
