The plenary session will approve the specifications of the installation after having already been ruled on by the information commission

Benidorm will approve on Monday to start the tender for the new contract for the Bus Station

18 January 2023
Estación de autobuses de Benidorm.

The plenary session of Benidorm City Council will approve next Monday the technical and administrative specifications that will govern the tender for the new contract for the Bus Station. In this extraordinary session, it will also be agreed to start the contracting procedure, open and ordinary, and its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, once the file has been ruled today by the Internal Regime Information Commission.

Mayor Toni Pérez already advanced last week that the City Council was in a position to tender the new infrastructure contract as the administrative file was complete and so he communicated it to the spokespersons of the political groups. The file includes all the pertinent technical reports, including the final control report.

Pérez pointed out in this regard that the main objective is to "comply with a sentence" that was ratified in 2012 by the Supreme Court, which forced the council to bid again on the facility. The mayor indicated that the intention was to bring this matter "as soon as possible" to the plenary session and proposed the date of January 16, yesterday, although the session has been postponed to next Monday the 23rd at the request of the opposition groups.

Once the plenary approves the specifications, the contract will be put out to tender for a term of 26 years, 10 months, and 8 days and 24,516,647.32 euros. With this amount, the work carried out and not amortized will be covered.

It should be remembered that this tender will come after the City Council and the Benidorm SL Bus Station reached an agreement for the resolution and liquidation of the terminal management contract. This agreement, which was embodied in an agreement, was reached within a parity and eminently technical commission of which the municipal secretary and auditor, a technician from the Economic area, and representatives of the concessionaire were part.

Based on this agreement, Estación de Autobuses de Benidorm SL will continue to provide service until the bidding process is complete and there is a new concessionaire.
