Benidorm Tourist Info, awarded for the Navilens application in tourist brochures

Benidorm tourist offices have been recognised for their project to apply Navilens codes in tourist brochures. Specifically, they have won the second prize of the 2024 Innovation Award, which was presented at the XXII Conference of the Tourist Info network of the Valencian Community, which was held in La Nucía.
The coordinator of the Tourism Department, Virginia Puchades, was in charge of explaining the details of this project, which makes it easier for people with visual disabilities to visit and learn about the most important tourist spots in Benidorm and included in the different tourist brochures.
These Navilens codes are similar to QR codes but unlike the latter, they are automatically detected by the user's mobile phone, which automatically has access to an audio with the content of the brochure.
The Mayor and Head of Tourism, Toni Pérez, recalled that “some years ago, Benidorm opted for these Navilens codes, incorporating them into the urban fabric, as part of its strategy and objective to achieve a 100% accessible and inclusive city.”
