The philologist Pasqual Almiñana was the maintainer of the act that this year marks its 25th anniversary
The amphitheater Oscar Esplá in Benidorm was once again the scene of the representation of the act of granting the Carta Pobla which this year commemorates the 692 anniversary of its bestowal to Benidorm by Admiral Bernat de Sarrià. A document by means of which Benidorm could be constituted like a town acquiring rights of which until the 8 of May 1325 did not exit.
The event was presented by Mª Esperanza Rostoll Aznar and the text was represented by the members of the Association of Penyes 2016 who were actors and actresses and whose maintainer on this occasion was the philologist Pasqual Almiñana i Orozco.
Pasqual Almiñana gave a review of the history of these twenty-five years of representation of the Charter in which he claimed cultural values, the use of Valencian through the 'Toponims of Benidorm', the research of Sylvia Plath, her literary walk through Benidorm and the Dicionari of Benidorm.
The ceremony was closed with a tribute to all the people who have participated during these 25 years in the staging of the Charter of Poblament addressing the words of the president of the Association of Penyes Mariano Nájera and the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez, and finishing with the anthem of Benidorm.
The mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez highlighted the events that this year have been organized on the occasion of 25 anniversary and has congratulated both the group of the Charter of Poblament and the association of penyes "for the representation, involvement and work". During this week there have been various activities of all cultural areas such as theater, music and an exhibition dedicated to Bernat de Sarrià and the 25 years of the Carta Pobla. Regarding the speech of the maintainer, he picked up the proposal launched so that the 'Day of Benidorm' is renamed 'Day of the Foundation of Benidorm' and inviting neighbors to come next Monday to the institutional plenary: "Pasqual, I invite you to prepare an exposition of motives so that you transfer them this proposal the Board of Spokesmen, which I am convinced it will be carried out and will go forward. "
