The Court ratified a few months ago the occupation license granted in June 2011

Benidorm requests a meeting with the Minister of Housing following the ruling of the TSJ about the towers of Punta Llisera

21 November 2017
Benidorm pide una reunión con la consellera de Vivienda a raíz de la sentencia del TSJ sobre las torres de Punta Llisera

The councilor for Urbanism of Benidorm City Council, Lourdes Caselles, today has requested a meeting with the Councilor for Housing, Public Works and Vertebration of the Territory, Mª José Salvador, following the ruling recently handed down by the Superior Court of Justice of the Community Valenciana (TSJ) that affects the towers of Punta Llisera.

Caselles explained that the City Council has been aware of this judicial decree from those affected, who have asked to meet with local authorities to address the details of the sentence, which obliges the Council to demolish both towers and compensate the owners. This meeting will take place later this week, as has been reported to the different political groups in the Board of Spokesmen held this morning.

The head of Urbanism has clarified that "the City Council has not been notified of the content of this ruling, since we were not a party to the proceedings." "That is why," he added, "we are waiting for the Regional Ministry to inform us, at the meeting we have requested, of the steps that the Valencian government will take or the measures that will be adopted."

Caselles has indicated that although the City Council was not part to this procedure, it was in the case that was also followed in the TSJ in relation to the occupation license granted in June 2011. This procedure was resolved "three months ago with sentence favorable to the action of the City Council ". Specifically, the high court "dismissed the appeal raised by an individual and ratified that the occupation license was well given."
