Benidorm reopens children's play areas and bio-healthy circuits and begins the subdivision of its beaches

Benidorm reobri àrees de joc infantils i zones biosaludables i inicia la parcel·lació de les seues platges...

The municipal market reopens this Wednesday at 50%, with the installation of even-numbered stops

Benidorm City Council has reopened today the children's playgrounds and bio-healthy circuits in the city's parks and green spaces; and it has begun the subdivision of the beaches, as reported by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who has informed the Corporation groups of these measures in a Board of Spokespersons.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "in attention to the new health situation it has been decided to reopen the children's areas and bio-healthy circuits, coinciding with the reopening of the municipal outdoor sports facilities marked by the resolution issued on February 26 by the Department of Universal Health and Public Health ”. The mayor recalled that the children's play areas, bio-healthy spaces and calisthenics spaces "were closed since last January 25 in view of the measures against Covid-19 dictated at that time by the Generalitat Valenciana."

"Now, given the lifting of certain restrictions in the Valencian Community and especially given the low incidence of the virus in our city, we are once again making these spaces available to the public, always appealing to prudence and responsibility in compliance with the measures hygienic-sanitary safety by users ”, the mayor pointed out after stressing that“ the City Council will maintain the daily disinfection of these spaces, redoubling efforts in this area and in the surveillance and supervision to guarantee the enjoyment of these facilities and services ”.

Regarding the tasks of adaptation of the beaches, Toni Pérez has indicated that "the subdivision works have begun early in the morning in the area of Rincón de Loix towards El Torrejó" and "will be completed over the next few days" . In order not to generate inconvenience among users during peak hours, the tasks of placing the plots will be carried out from 06:00 to 12:30.

Toni Pérez recalled that last Friday the plenary session approved "the configuration of the beaches and the services to be provided in them during the months of March and April, following the model of safe beaches implemented last summer and how good results and reception had among users ”. A configuration that includes the subdivision of the sandy areas of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas, given the favorable evolution of the pandemic and the foreseeable increase in people on the beach during this period, which includes two important holiday moments such as the long bridge of San José and Easter.

With regard to services, until April 30, “an increase in the surveillance and rescue service” has been foreseen, consisting of a maximum of 19 personnel and which includes a boat and an ambulance; “A reinforcement of cleaning” on beaches and coves in morning and afternoon shifts, complementing the usual night service; and the opening of the accessible beach points of Elche Park and Murcia Street from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Municipal sports facilities

As it was anticipated last Friday, activity has resumed today in municipal outdoor sports facilities following the limitations established by the Generalitat. Thus, this morning the athletics, tennis, racquetball and petanque courts of Guillermo Amor Sports City and the tennis and paddle courts of Palau d'Esports l’Illa de Benidorm were reopened.

As of today, the practice of individual or in pairs sports activity is allowed, being limited to a maximum of 4 people, always maintaining the physical safety distance, being able to include, in these conditions, a professional monitor.

The population of Infant and Primary school age, outside of school hours, will be able to develop group sports activities and outdoor training with up to four athletes, in a stable group, without physical contact and with a safe distance. Always without public and the companions will not be able to stay in or in the facilities or in the surroundings, so that crowds be avoided when dropping off and picking up minors at the facilities.

Likewise, all sports competitions, activities and events organized by public or private entities, in all sports categories and modalities, with the exception of regional sports competitions that grant a right of promotion to national championships or competitions and the essential ones, continue to be suspended. to obtain the official classification for championships of state level.

The covered and closed sports facilities of public or private ownership (pavilions, closed courts, sports centers, gyms) will continue to be closed, for the use of the general population, with the exception of those that are necessary for the development of specific competitions.

All sports activities will end at 9:30 p.m., taking into account that at 10 p.m. the public must be at their homes

Open Market

In the Board of Spokespersons convened today by the mayor, the situation of the municipal market of Mercasa has also been addressed. Thus, it has been decided that "the market will reopen its doors to 50% this Wednesday, the 3rd, starting this first day with the even-numbered food and textile stops." Looking ahead to next week, the odd-numbered positions will be installed, maintaining this alternation until the current capacity restrictions set by the Generalitat are lifted.

The mayor has pointed out that “taking advantage of the temporary suspension of the market, last month a fence was placed on the entire façade of the enclosure of Foietes Park, with the aim of beautifying and preserving the enclosure, as well as improving the control of access to this space during the flea market ”.
