Street Cleaning will install new 100-liter waste bins in Poniente, Avenida del Mediterráneo and surrounding areas
Benidorm renews the waste bins on Paseo de Levante with a model that increases the capacity to 250 liters

The old bins will be relocated after cleaning and repainting.
Benidorm City Council has begun renovating all the waste bins located on Paseo de Levante, opting for "a black metal model very similar to the current one but which increases the collection capacity from 100 to 250 litres," according to Luis Navarro, Councilor for Street Cleaning. Specifically, the new 250-litre waste bins are being installed in the section from the intersection of Avenida Virgen del Sufragio to the end of Avenida de Madrid. In the section around Plaza del Torrejó, which is narrower than the rest of the promenade, 100-litre waste bins have been installed exceptionally.
Navarro explained that the renovation of these bins comes after the City Council "has acquired 115 units: 65 of 100 litres and 50 of 250 litres, all of them equipped with anti-vandalism systems."
All of the high-capacity units will be installed on Paseo de Levante "because it is the area of Benidorm where the greatest amount of waste is generated throughout the day"; while the 65 100-liter bins will be distributed "between Paseo de Poniente and Avenida del Mediterráneo and the surrounding area."
The councillor also indicated that "all the bins removed from these locations will be relocated to other areas of Benidorm after being cleaned, repainted, and repaired, replacing units that are damaged or that correspond to other models." The medium-term intention, Navarro explained, is "to implement a single model of bin throughout the city, with a black metal aesthetic and embossed with the Benidorm name." In this regard, he clarified that "the new waste collection and street cleaning contract will include the supply and maintenance of the bins throughout the city."
