The works affect pedestrianization and improvements in accessibility and mobility
Benidorm renews the pavement in La Cala, Colonia Madrid and downtown
The Department of Works has begun the renovation work on the pavement in the streets of downtown, Colonia Madrid and La Cala. The Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, has pointed out that yesterday, Tuesday, "Aigües street and its confluence with the avenues of Santanter and Vicente Llorca Alós were paved and today [Wednesday]." These actions, said the mayor, will solve many of the "accessibility problems" in this area of La Cala de Benidorm.
Next, the machines will be moved to Colonia Madrid to carry out "important actions in pedestrianization." On Calle Greco the creation of a unique platform is proposed. Intervention that will be accompanied in the neighborhood by others of lesser importance in Virgen de la Macarena and Goya streets and in the vicinity of the Ciudad Deportiva ‘Guillermo Amor” to facilitate accessibility and mobility for users.
Once the work in Colonia Madrid is finished, the objective will move to the center of Benidorm. On the one hand, the pedestrianization of Sant Pere street that, González de Zárate has recalled, responds to a plenary agreement of the City Council of 2011 but which has been "this government team, after almost 10 years" who has made the decision to make it happen. The action will involve the construction of a new "unique printed asphalt platform" for pedestrians, "friendly and comfortable for citizens, and fully accessible".
Finally, the work will continue in the center of with the asphalting of the confluences of Limones and Marqués de Comillas streets with Maravall, Jaime I and Vent. With this "it will affect", clarified the head of Works, "in improving accessibility Alfredo Corral neighborhood."
